"I regard my work as an act of worship, and also an act of magic. From the Egyptian perspective, magic, heka, is the process through which divine power is activated and harnessed in order to accomplish a constructive action. It is essentially the creative force, and is directly linked to the Gods. My icons are not simply decorative art, nor are they an expression of my own ego. The art I create isn't really created by me at all. It is a visual manifestion of the passion that grips me through my spiritual union with whatever deity I am painting. This is a moment of divine ecstasty frozen on canvas, and I believe that to see these paintings is to come close to the Divine, to touch the Divine through the immediate presence of the god's image, symbols and colors". www.iconsofkmt.com
